Nomenclatural notes: —It is noteworthy that Cuatrecasas (1954) wrongly indicated the provenance of the type material. He stated in the protologue that the new species was collected between Santa Rosa and Joyagshi (Chimborazo Province), and named this species “rosanus ” referring to the locality Santa Rosa. Since the label shows four localities depending on the collection number, it is feasible to think that Cuatrecasas misunderstood the label information. This collection, numbered Camp E-4151, was actually collected near Pimo (Cañar Province).
Distribution: — Ecuador.
