        <spm:hasContent> Notes This crustacean looks much like  J. californiensis( Baba and Wicksten 1997). If so, it constitutes a major range extension, because previous records of the species are no further south than the Gulf of California, Mexico. To date, there is only one species known of  Janetogalathea, but the animal in the photograph differs from those previously described, because of the slender fingers of the chelae, without spines. This might be a variant of  J. californiensisor something undescribed. Fig. 9</spm:hasContent>
