Material examined.Sixteen adult females: IRAN:left label: 2963/ Fars province: / 3.5 kmE Estahban/ 21.vii.2018/ N29˚06′40.6″/ E54˚04′32.8″; right label: Saissetia miranda/ (Cock. & Parl.) [mis-spelling of an abbreviation of Parrott]/ on Ficus caricaL. ( Moraceae)/ coll. H. Faghih (HMIM).
Comment: Saissetia mirandawas described originally from Mexico; it is now much more widespread, but has not been recorded from Africa ( García Morales et al.2016). The species is polyphagous, with a wide range of host plants. It has been recorded previously from Iranon Melia azedarachL. ( Meliaceae) ( Moghaddam et al. 2015); here it is recorded as a pest of F. carica(Moraceae)from Estahban, Fars province, for the first time.
