Three new species of Protearomyia McAlpine, 1962 (Diptera: Lonchaeidae) with a key to males of the Palearctic species Macgowan, Iain Zootaxa 2014 3796 2 337 348 9HY4H MacGowan & Freidberg, 2008 MacGowan & Freidberg 2008 [151,867,1688,1714] Insecta Lonchaeidae Protearomyia Animalia Diptera 7 344 Arthropoda species hermonensis   Male terminalia( Figs. 27–31). Epandrium slightly higher than wide, cerci hardly projecting from beyond the shell of the epandrium ( Fig. 27). Surstyli markedly serrated on ventral margins, no distinct posteroventral denticles present ( Fig. 28). Hypoproct broad and disc-like, apically forming two short, relatively broad processes with a bluntly angled apex, outer margins with numerous finger–like processes ( Figs. 28 & 29). Phallus ( Fig. 31) Ushaped, much shorter and stouter than in the other Palearctic species, apical section very weakly sclerotized and under higher magnification with a recurved tip, lightly sclerotized lateral phlanges basally. Phallic guide ( Fig. 30) U-shaped, slightly flared at apices, with a pair of small inner processes, without basal ventral projections.  Differential diagnosis. With hypoproct disc-like, the lack of an enlarged ventral process to the epandrium, and phallic guide without ventral projections; this species is most similar to  P. greciana.   FIGURES 22–26.  Protearomyia grecianaMcAlpine.Male genitalia. 22.
