E. Koch (1977: 161). Monod (2011b)revalidated the species as  Liocheles boholiensis(Kraepelin, 1914). Monod and Prendini (2015)subsequently removed the genus  Hormurusfrom synonymy with  Liochelesand confirmed the species  boholiensisas belonging to  Hormurus. The larger female of this series was designated as lectotype by Monod (2011b: 726)  Remarks on collector. Although not mentioned on the original labels, the specimens were probably collected by Carl Gottfried Semper (1832-1893), a German malacologist who obtained a Ph.D. degree at the University of Wuerzburgin 1856 and continued his studies in Kiel. An inheritance from his father allowed him to pay for a seven years trip to the Philippines and Palau (1858-1865) ( Schuberg 1880). After returning to Germany, he was appointed lecturer (1866) and professor (1869) at the University of Wuerzburg. He visited Bohol in 1863, which corresponds to the collecting date of the two present specimens.
