This specimen is here designated the lectotypeand it has the following data label: 495 [handwritten]\  Centris denudansLep. ♀Cayen- nae [handwritten] ( OUMNH). The lectotypeis much damaged with eyes and metasoma missing. According to the original description, this specimen belonged to Dejean collection.   Typelocality: French Guiana: Cayenne. Comment: This species was correctly interpreted by Silveira et al. (2002)and according to these authors and to Moure et al.
