Phaseolus cylindricusLinnaeus, Amoenitates Academicae4: 132. 1759.
Lectotype(Merrill, Interpret. Rumph. Herb. Amb.: 284. 1917): [icon] " Phaseolus minor"in Rumphius, Herb. Amboin. 5: 383, t. 139, f. 1. 1747.
Note:In the dissertation Herb. Amboin.: 23 (1754), Linnaeus gave the name " Phaseolus cylindraceus" in an entry corresponding with Rumphius't. 140 (vol. 4). However, this name appears in the left-hand column, rather than the right where new Linnaean binomials appear, and the name is invalid (Art. 34.1, Ex. 2(a)). However, it appears as P. cylindricusin the right-hand column in the reprint of the dissertation in Amoen. Acad.4 (1759), where it is validly published.
