Slight differences in morphology and partial DNA barcodes (but only mini barcodes of 144 base pairs are available from High Arctic specimens) suggest this is a different species. However, it cannot be described until a comprehensive study of the fulvipes/ pallipescomplex is done. Most of the 46 studied specimens are from Banks Island, with two specimens from Bylot and Baffin Islands.
