Phlomis indica Linnaeus , Species Plantarum 2 : 586. 1753 Chapter 7: Linnaean Plant Names and their Types (part P) Jarvis, Charlie (L.) R. Br. R. Br. Linnaeus 1753 Magnoliopsida Lamiaceae Leucas Plantae Lamiales Tracheophyta species zeylanica      Phlomis indicaLinnaeus,  Species Plantarum2: 586. 1753.  "Habitat in India." RCN: 4277.   Neotype(Paton in Jarvis & al. in Taxon50: 516. 2001): India. Nilgiri Hills, Pykura, 1878, G. King s.n.(K).   Note:This name has been out of use for many years. From Linnaeus'lengthy description, he evidently had material available to him but this is now lost. It seems very likely that this name referred to the same species which Linnaeus described as  P. zeylanicain 1753, and a neotypewas chosen by Paton to formalise this, with  P. indicafalling into the synonymy of  L. zeylanica.
