Eiseman, ex  Elymus hystrix, #CSE1973, CNC564662 (1♂).   Host.* Poaceae:  Elymus hystrixL.  Leaf mine.( Fig. 66) In the single example observed, three eggs were inserted in a cluster in the basal portion of a leaf, near the middle, and the larvae mined distally, forming gradually widening tracks that eventually merged. In the young mines, black frass particles formed two rows, delineating a green central area; the margins of the mines were whitish.   Puparium.Reddish-brown; formed outside the mine.   Distribution. USA: GA, *IA, MD, NC, NY, UT, VA; Canada: ON.   Comments. Spencer (1969)reported a broad, white mine, up to three inches long, produced by an unidentified  Agromyzaspecies on  Elymus hystrixin Ontario. Otherwise, the only previous record of an  Agromyzaspecies on  Elymusis that of   A. ambiguaFallén(as   A. niveipennisZetterstedt) from  E. repens(L.) Gould (as  Agropyron repens(L.) Beauv.)
