Type material. Holotype: BRAZIL: Amazonas: ♀, Barcelos[ 1.1833, ‑64.9667], Serra do Tapirapecó, 2 October 2006, A.A. Nogueiraleg. ( INPA).
Etymology.The specific name refers to the typelocality; noun in apposition.
Diagnosis.Females of M. tapirapeco spec. nov.resemble those of M. sanctivincenti comb. nov.( Figs 250–252) and M. zeteki spec. nov.( Figs 309–311) by the epigyne with EP opening medially on MS. They are distinguished from both species by the MS wider than long ( Fig. 257) and internal ducts with FW U-shaped and laterad ( Figs 258–259) (MS as long as wide and FW sinuous and posteriad in M. sanctivincenti comb. nov.; EP longer than wide and FW postero laterad in M. zeteki spec. nov.).
Description. Female ( holotype):Total length 10.8. Prosoma 3.9 long, 3.7 wide. Opisthosoma 6.5 long, 4.1 wide. Eyes: diameters: 0.34, 0.25, 0.19, 0.23; interdistances: 0.25, 0.20, 0.48, 0.41, 0.25, 0.19. Legs: I: 19.4 (5.3, 2.1, 5.2, 5.3, 1.5); II: 20.3 (5.7, 2.2, 5.5, 5.4, 1.5); III: 14.4 (4.3, 1.6, 3.7, 3.5, 1.3); IV: 16.1 (4.6, 1.5, 4.2, 4.4, 1.4). Spination follows the generic pattern. Epigyne: EF wider than long, MAB short and narrow; MS drop-shaped, with lateral margins gently converging anteriorly; LL almost touching posteriorly ( Fig. 257). Vulva: GP slightly longer than wide, mediad, arising from ducts at first turn; SP irregular-shaped, with folds; FD antero laterad ( Figs 251–252, 256–257). Male:Unknown.
Distribution.Only known from the typelocality ( Fig. 317).
