Male ( Figs 5, 6).Wingspan 41.5 mm; forewing length 18.5 mm; body length 25 mm. A very large and distinctive species, most body parts black, abdomen with a red tip. Head and Thorax: black, with few white pericephalic scales ventrally. Forewing: black; with a remnant transparent area at the base between cubital stem and anal margin. Hindwing: with two large transparent areas at the base, interspaced by a very small transparent area between A1 and A2; three small and round transparent areas between M1, M2, and M3 near the apex. Abdomen: tergite 2 with some white scales at distal edge laterally, tergite 3 with very small white patch at the distal margin laterally; segment 7 and anal tuft orange red.  Genitalia. Male (Gen. Prep. AK634, Fig. 31).Valva with dorsal part covered with hand-shaped setae, each with 6–9 finger-like projections; distal and ventral part of valva covered with a mixture of simple pointed setae and hand-shaped setae; basal area with strong and pointed setae; uncus with soft hair-like setae; gnathos (a) consisting a ridge with two apical teeth; saccus relatively short; phallus about as long as valva, with a simple sclerotized plate subapically.  Variability.Wingspans range from 38 to 41.5 mm. The extent of the transparent areas of the hindwing varies considerably.   Diagnosis.  N. opaca  sp. nov.is very distinct from most known species of the genus  Nokona. It is somewhat similar to  N. pryeri, which differs from the latter by the lack of transparent areas in the distal part of the hindwings and the extensive red scaling of the abdomen. Superficially,  N. opaca  sp. nov.also resembles  Cyanosesia cyanolampra(Diakonoff, [1968]), which differs by the presence of a large transparent area, covering most of the distal area of the hindwing and the orange-yellow patagia.
