Material examined

Lectotype. Female I. v-maculata India “ Bracon v-maculata Cam. Khasia”, “662” ( OUMNH).

Paralectotypes. One female, no label data ( OUMNH); one female INDIA “ Bracon v-maculata Cam. Khasia”, “B.M. TYPE HYM. 3.c.432” ( BMNH) .

Lectotype. Female I. orientalis INDIA “ Bracon orientalis Cam. Khasia ”, “ Lectotype ”, “993” [missing head] ( OUMNH).

Paralectotypes. I. orientalis India, female “Khasia, Rothney” ( OUMNH); female “ Bracon orientalis Cam. Type Khasia”, “3c.433” ( BMNH) .

Morphology

Length of body 12.0–16.0 mm, of fore wing 10.4–13.0 mm, and of ovipositor (part exserted beyond apex of metasoma) 8.0– 9.5 mm. Antenna with approximately 120 flagellomeres. Raised median area of first tergite not weakly depressed medially. Fore wing vein cu-a postfurcal. Second submarginal cell rather robust, vein 2-M 2.9 times length of 2-SR. Hind wing vein 2-SC+ R distinctly transverse. Base of hind wing with narrow glabrous areas on either side of vein cu-a.

Colouration

Body and legs entirely orange yellow to yellow except for middle of frons, stemmaticum and vertex reaching eyes which is black, a “ V ”-shaped mark on the outer side of hind coxa and a mark on ventral surface of hind femur which are brown to black. Antennae entirely black.

Notes

Distinguishable from all other species by the “ V ”-shaped dark mark on the outer sides of the hind coxae.
