Preservation: pinned; genitalia dissected and mounted on slide pinned with the specimen.

Paratype male with labels: (1) handwritten on white label: “Sanlong / 90.6.11”; (2) printed on yellow label: “ PARATYPE ”; (3) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white label: “ Pegohylemyia / papiliocerca / Identifier: Anxiao Deng ”; (4) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ PARATYPE / Botanophila / papiliocerca / (Deng) ”.

Additional notes: All labels of holotype and paratypes pinned by Anxiao Deng, but the date of collection on the labels (90.6.11) do not match with the date in the original publication (1988.6.14, 1989.6.18).

Current name: Botanophila papiliocerca ( Deng, 1997) .
