Holotype male with labels: (1) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white label: “ XinJiang Wubulanggou / Chinese Academy of Sciences ”; (2) printed with handwritten inscriptions on white label: “19 59. VI / collector Jinquan Qian ”; (3) handwritten on white label: “ 7mm ”; (4) handwritten on white label: “ Pseudomyopina probola sp.n. ”; (5) handwritten on yellow label: “took it back from military region of Xinjiang ”; (6) printed with handwritten inscriptions on red label: “ TYPE / Pseudomyopina fumidorsis / probola Fan ”.

Preservation: pinned; genitalia dissected and mounted on slide, wings damaged.

Current name: A junior synonym of Botanophila fumidorsis ( Ackland, 1967) .
