Notes based on study of photographs of holotype.

Male. Head and prothorax dark reddish; antennae and legs yellowish; elytra reddish, gradually yellowish toward apex; each elytron with dorsal yellowish spot, not reaching suture, beginning behind humerus and extending to middle area; ventral surface reddish.

Head. Antennal tubercles flattened, surface glabrous; area between upper eye lobes with shallow longitudinal glabrous depression; erect and elongate setae sparsely distributed.

Thorax. Pronotum with irregular surface; posterior constriction pubescent (not obscuring integument), prolonged toward sides of prothorax; sides with long, erect setae sparsely distributed. Prosternal process narrow at middle, wider toward apex. Scutellum with scarce pubescence sparsely distributed. Elytra coarsely punctate.

Dimensions (in mm). Total length, 5.5; largest width of the head, 1.0; prothorax length, 1.0; greatest width of prothorax, 0.7; humeral width, 1.0; elytral length, 3.6.

Type material. In addition to the original description, we had access to photographs in dorsal and ventral view, sent by Antonio Santos-Silva (MZSP) and by the Rede Paranaense de coleções biológicas (Taxonline).
