Extended diagnosis: Males of S. tengchongensis are similar to those of S. hainan spec. nov. ( Figs. 14 View FIGURES 14 a–c) in having an embolic apophysis with distal part being wider than embolus and a RTA whose vRTA is shovel-shaped in ventral view and broad, rounded and short in retrolateral view and a finger-like dRTA, but can be distinguished by 1. embolus without membranous flange distally (with membranous flange distally in S. hainan spec. nov.), 2. embolic apophysis bent at an acute angle (bent at a right angle in S. hainan spec. nov.), 3. tegulum four times as wide as spermophor and with furrows medially (seven times as wide as spermophor and without furrows medially in S. hainan spec. nov.) and 4. RTA with vRTA basally with hairs, ridge of vRTA extending over whole border on ventral view and dRTA nearly as long as tegulum (vRTA basally without hairs, ridge of vRTA extending only at indentation on ventral view and dRTA shorter than tegulum in S. hainan spec. nov.).
Description: Male: Total length 17.50; prosoma 10.00 long, 9.10 wide, anterior width of prosoma 5.20; opisthosoma 7.50 long, 4.50 wide. Eye measurements: AME 0.47; ALE 0.66; PME 0.51; PLE 0.66; AME–AME 0.34; AME–ALE 0.12; PME–PME 0.55; PME–PLE 0.68; AME–PME 0.68; ALE–PLE 0.65; clypeus AME 0.54; clypeus ALE 0.52. Leg formula: 2143. Measurements of palp and legs: palp: 15.50 (5.30, 2.30, 2.80, 5.10); I: 44.40 (11.90, 5.10, 12.20, 12.00, 3.20); II: 49.10 (13.80, 5.50, 13.50, 13.00, 3.30); III: 38.10 (11.30, 4.60, 10.40, 9.20, 2.60); IV: 40.70 (11.60, 4.30, 10.90, 10.80, 3.10). Colouration in ethanol: Prosoma reddish-brown, posteriorly with longitudinal yellow stripe, median part with two brown transversal stripes, antero-laterally brown. Sternum yellow with brown margin. Opisthosoma ventrally and dorsally whitish-grey. Chelicerae reddish-brown. Palps yellowish-brown. Legs yellowish-brown; Fe ventrally yellow.
Palp as in diagnosis. Embolus curved, slightly longer than embolic apophysis. Embolic apophysis in prolateral view with small indentation. Distal part of embolic apophysis wide. Conductor long and arising from 1-o’clockposition. Spermophore curved in ventral and retrolateral view. Large subtegulum. Tegulum widest at median part. vRTA in ventral view serrated and shovel-shaped, in retrolateral view with blunt end and rounded at corners. dRTA long, curved and tapering, pointing dorso-distally in retrolateral view.
