28. Pombalia poaya View in CoL ( A.St.-Hil.) Paula-Souza, comb. nov. ≡ Ionidium poaya A.St. -Hil. ( Saint-Hilaire 1824a: 254).— Type: BRAZIL. Goiás: “Près Sta. Luzia de Goyaz, Mai 1817 ”, May [1819], Saint-Hilaire Catal. C 1-653 (lectotype P 02141239!, here designated; isolectotype P 02141238!).

Saint-Hilaire does not indicate a single collection as type 6, but mentions a few localities in Minas Gerais and Goiás states where the plants were found. The specimen that bears the sheet with the original description by Saint-Hilaire’s handwriting is sterile (Saint-Hilaire C 1- 6117, P 00636495 ), for this reason the flowering specimen used as a model for the illustration at the published description was elected as lectotype. The isolectotype’s label shows the collection year as 1817; however the itinerary provided by Urban (1906) indicates that correct citation for the date is May, 1919 .
