Two syntype female specimens were located matching the description given by Gorham (1881). The larger specimen, matching the general description and bearing a “Sp. figured” label is herein designated as the lectotype. The smaller specimen, which seemed to Gorham (1881) to be a variant, is designated as a paralectotype. Labels for the designated lectotype specimen are as follows:
