Gorham (1881) examined four specimens, two in the British Museum collection and two in Sallé’s collection. A single female syntype from Sallé’s collection was located bearing a “Sp. figured” label and is therefore designated as the lectotype. Labels for the designated lectotype specimen are as follows:
