Pseudomys calabyi Kitchener and Humphreys 1987 View in CoL
Pseudomys calabyi Kitchener and Humphreys 1987 View in CoL , Rec. West. Aust. Mus ., 13: 296.
Type Locality: Australia, Northern Territory, Uranium Development Project Falls, 100 m.
Vernacular Names: Kakadu Pebble-mound Pseudomys.
Distribution: Australia, recorded only from a small area in N part of Northern Territory ( Woinarski et al., 1995 a).
Discussion: Kitchener and Humphreys (1987) proposed calabyi as a distinctive subspecies of P. laborifex (see also Mahoney and Richardson, 1988:177), but Woinarski et al. (1995 a) claimed that study of more material collected between 1988 and 1990 confirms its specific status. The small range of P. calabyi is allopatric to that of P. laborifex .
