Notes.

Mezia comprises 15 currently accepted species (eight threatened species; Suppl. material 1) of lianas endemic to the rainforests of the Amazon and Atlantic rainforest biomes in South America ( Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela) and Panama, Central America ( POWO 2024).
