DISTRIBUTION: Worldwide: temperate to tropical waters.

STATUS: CITES - Appendix II.

SYNONYMS: rissoanus , stearnsii .

COMMENTS: Corbet and Hill (1980:110) included rectipinna in this species but it belongs in Orcinus orca .
