Distribution: Ethiopia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Senegal, Uganda; Intertropical Africa.
Remark: Maldonado Capriles (1990) listed some 80 species of the genus Rhynocoris from the Afrotropical mainland, but highlights the confusion in the taxonomy of Neotropical vs. non-Neotropical taxa, with “the real status of the latter species … to be determined”. Villiers (1948) keyed only 25 of them. However, the identifications presented herewith, based on Villiers’ outdated key, may suffice the aim of faunistics and biodiversity in Liberia, as they are at least validated against previous records from this country (see below).
