Material examined: LIBERIA: Bong county, trip Gbayamu –Liberia Research Unit (Bong Mine) , 6°48′N 10°21′W, 7.vi.1989, 9:50–10:25 am, vehicle-mounted net, leg. Rolf Garms (1 ♂).

Distribution: Liberia.

Remark: Described and keyed as one of several new species of the originally monotypic genus by Miller (1957), it was subsequently reduced to a subspecies by Dispons (1969). Its main features are the bicolored anterior pronotal lobe and the shape of the apical process of pygophore.
