Bhaumik and party; 1♀, West Bengal: Darjeeling District: Kalijhora, 12.XI.1978, A.R. Bhaumik and party.

Habitat. The holotype and paratypes were collected from under bark of a dead standing tree.

Distribution. INDIA: West Bengal.

Etymology. It denotes the district of West Bengal from where the specimens have been collected.

Remarks. This new species, Aulacogenia darjeelingensis sp. nov., is closely related to A. papilla Zhao & Cai from China, by sharing common characters such as anteocular region of head distinctly longer than postocular, lower margin of anteocular concave, first segment of antennae shorter than anteocular, second antennal segment longer than first rostral segment, inner antennal process with rounded apex, posterior pronotal lobe with four longitudinal carinae, middle of scutellum longitudinally depressed and fore tibia not wider than fore femur. However A. darjeelingensis sp. nov. can be easily separated from A. papilla Zhao & Cai by following diagnostic characteristics as in Table 1 View TABLE 1 .
