Homotypic synonyms: — Cestichis gibbsiae (J.J.Sm.) M.A.Clem. & D.L.Jones in Jones & Clements (2005: 39); Stichorkis gibbsiae (J.J.Sm.) Marg., Szlach. & Kułak in Szlachetko, Margońska & Kułak (2008: 38).
Type: — Dutch N. W. New Guinea ( INDONESIA), Arfak Mountains ( West Irian Jaya), Angi lakes, forest patch by female lake epiphyte in forest, 7000’, December 1913, L. S. Gibbs 5897 (lectotype BM 0000088842 ! designated here, isolectotype BO 0070867 !) ; L. S. Gibbs 5688 (syntypes: BM 000958061 !, BO 0070868 !) .
Note: — The Bogor’s specimens are in very bad condition and contain only pieces of the plants, thus I selected the BM specimen as lectotype.
