Material examined. 1♀, Aus, 26°40’S 16°15’E, 3.iii.2000, F.W. & S.K. Gess, visiting yellow daisy, Asteraceae , 99/00/67 ( AMGS) GoogleMaps .

Notes. Does not run down in Hesse’s (1938) key. Very small (4 mm); black, legs brown; long golden hair and numerous black bristles; wings smoky, costal cell yellowish; pulvilli as long as claws; proboscis as long as head and thorax; haltere blackish­brown, pale at apex of knob; antenna 4:1:3, apex excavate with bristle; hind femur, one ventral spine.
