The type locality is referred as “todos os exemplares foram achados perto de Petropolis a cerca de 800 m de altitude” (freely translated as “all specimens were found near Petrópolis at about 800 m altitude”).

Lectotype. According to Heyer (1983: 313), in the A. Lutz collection, at the MNRJ, specimens AL-MN 2180– 2182, 2194, and 2242, were indicated as “types”. Remarks. A. Lutz (1932) referred to specimens collected on 26 June 1930, 01 July 1931, and 16 October 1931. These dates are different from those found in the labels of the specimens. Probably these differences were due to posterior mistakes included in the labels during the transference of the A. Lutz collection from the Instituto Oswaldo Cruz to the Museu Nacional in 1964.
