Type species: Anthrenus elongatulus Fabricius, 1801 .
Diagnosis of the genus Trogoderma . Body subparallel to narrowly ovate in dorsal view, moderately to strongly convex in lateral view, with recumbent to erect setation on both pronotum and elytra. Head with a conspicuous median ocellus. Antennal club consisting of 3–9 antennomeres; club indistinct, antennomeres gradually lengthened towards apex. Antennal cavity closed. Prosternum forming a collar under which external mouthparts fit when head is retracted. Protibiae without spines on dorsal (= outer) face.
