Type locality. Queenstown.

Broun number: 1380.

Type material examined. 1 ex. Holotype (NHM): card-mounted, genitalia mounted on glass slide pinned together with the specimen, “Holo- \ type” [round label with red border], “1380.” [in Broun’s hand], “New Zealand. [red underline] \ Broun Coll. \ Brit. Mus. \ 1922-482.”, “ Cyphon . \ laticollis .“ [in Broun’s hand], “Holotype \ Cyphon laticollis \ Broun \ det. T. Nyholm 1981” [in Nyholm’s hand].

Remarks. Broun studied a single specimen collected in Queenstown, Otago, which was received from F. W. Hutton (Broun 1883).
