Type locality. Auckland.

Broun number: 560.

Type material examined. 1 ex. Holotype ( NHM): card-mounted, “ Atopida Lawsoni \ Type D.S. \ Auckland Lawson” [written at base of card in Sharp’s hand], “ Type \ H. T.” [round label with red border], “ Auckland, [red underline] \ New Zealand.”, “Sharp Coll. \ 1905-313.”

Remarks. The only specimen was sent to Sharp by Thomas Lawson from Auckland (Sharp 1878).
