Aethinodes Blackburn and related genera
The genera Aethinodes Blackburn, 1891 , Lasiodites Jelínek, 1999 , and Plesiothina Kirejtshuk, 1990b , were all considered as subgenera of the New World genus Phenolia Erichson, 1843 , by Kirejtshuk & Kvamme (2002). This action was recently criticised by Lawrence (2018), who treated each of these as a full genus.
