Distribution. Brazil: without detail ( Brown & Hodkinson 1988, as Euphalerus cf. fossiconis ), MG (ELEF, NHMB).
Host plant. Copaifera langsdorfii (Fabaceae) .
Comments. The undescribed psyllid species from Brazil associated with Copaifera langsdorfii is closely related to Euphalerus fossiconis Brown & Hodkinson, 1988 , from Panama from which it differs in details of the head, forewing and terminalia. The excavate genal processes present in both the new species and Euphalerus fossiconis are characteristic for Euryconus , a genus currently known from two described species in Southeast Asia and an undescribed species in Australia ( Hollis 2004, Ouvrard 2012). Undescribed material in the NHMB suggests that Euryconus is a pantropical genus with many undescribed species in tropical Africa, America and Asia. Here we tranfer Euphalerus fossiconis to this genus as Euryconus fossiconis (Brown & Hodkinson) , comb. nov.
