Calophya duvauae ( Scott, 1882) View in CoL

Distribution. Argentina, Uruguay.— Brazil: RS ( Ihering 1885, Wille 1926, Ronna 1934, Costa Lima 1942, Bienzanko et al. 1949, as Psylla duvauae ; Burckhardt 1988; Dias 2010, as Calophya aff. duvauae ).

Host plant. Schinus dependens , S. fasciculata , S. polygama (Anacardiaceae) (see comments).

Comment. Burckhardt (1988) noted that the specimens from Brazil differ in the forewing colour from the type material of C. duvauae from Argentina . Additional recently examined specimens suggest that the Brazilian populations constitute a different species.

There is a problem concerning the valid host name. Scott (1882) described C. duvauae from Duvaua dependens which is a synonym of Schinus polygama , a species occurring in Chile and perhaps adjacent Argentina ( Barkley 1944, 1957). For this reason Burckhardt & Basset (2000) used the name Schinus fasciculata for records of this host from Argentina and Brazil.
