Augochloropsis (Glyptochlora) peruviana sp. nov.

( Figs. 1E View FIGURE 1 ; 2B, E, H View FIGURE 2 ; 3A, C View FIGURE 3 ; 4D View FIGURE 4 )

Diagnosis. This species is similar to A. ticuna sp. nov. by the coppery body coloration and red lower parocular area. It can be separated from the remaining A. ( Glyptochlora ), including A. ticuna sp. nov. by the propodeal lateral expansion with regular margin, straight in the most basal region; hind basitarsus with thick dark bristles on the external margin; mesepisternum with inconspicuous dark setae; dorsal surface of T1–T3 with dull integument, micropunctate in between; pronotum with lateral ridge strongly projected forward forming an acute tip, almost touching the occipital area of the head in lateral view; T1 with dorso-lateral line strongly elevated.

Comments. Found in western Amazonia, in the foothills of the Andes in San Martin ( Peru).

Description. Holotype ♀. Measurements (based on three specimens). Head width: 2.87–3.00 (x̅ =2.95); head length: 1.72–1.85 (x̅ =1.80); clypeus width: 1.55–1.65 (x̅ =1.61); clypeus length: 0.83–0.86 (x̅ =0.84); eye notch width: 0.59–0.69 (x̅ =0.65); supraclypeal length: 0.43–0.50 (x̅ =0.47); alveolo-ocellar distance: 0.66–0.69 (x̅ =0.67); intertegular distance: 2.08–2.31 (x̅ =2.21); T1 maximum width: 3.3–3.56 (x̅ =3.43); T2 maximum width: 3.37–3.60 (x̅ =3.48); body length: 9.72 (x̅ =9.72).

Flagellomeres F1–F10 setose, with white sensilla. Pronotal lobe with dark setae. Mesoscutum with very short (=1 OD), scarce, dark bristles. Scutellum covered by erect, long (1.5–2 OD), dark setae; intermixed with more erect, longer (3–3.5 OD) dark bristles. Metanotum covered by yellow tomentose setae, intermixed with erect, long (1.5–2.5 OD), dark setae. Mesepisternum with inconspicuous dark setae. Propodeum lateral surface covered by yellow tomentose setae, intermixed with longer (1.5–2 OD), yellow setae; posterior vertical surface with long (≥1 OD), erect, yellow setae; metapostnotum glabrous.
