Type locality: Kosh-Agach (Altai Republic, Russia).

Published (original) locality: corresponds to data on the holotype label (see below).

Holotype: ♀, Алтай, Кош-Агач, ЧуйскаЯ ст.[епь] [ Russia, Altai Republic, Kosh-Agach , 49°59′N 88°39′E], [M.] КоЗлов [M. Kozlov leg.], 26.VI [1]964 // Andrena callopyrrha kozlovi Osytsh. // A. Osytshnjuk det. // Holotypus <red label> // Zoological Institute St. Petersburg INS_HYM_0002531 .

Current status. Andrena (Taeniandrena) callopyrrha Cockerell, 1929 (according to Gusenleitner & Schwarz 2002: 149).

Remark. This is a problematic taxon. Gusenleitner & Schwarz (2002: 150) studied both subspecies and assumed A. callopyrrha callopyrrha Cockerell, 1929 to be a junior synonym of A. similis Smith, 1849 [= A. russula Lepeletier, 1841 , see Praz et al. 2022]. However it is necessary to study the type material, distribution and variability of the Taeniandrena species in Central Asia to clarify this situation.

Distribution. Russia (southern Siberia), Kazakhstan, Mongolia, northern China.
