Redescription. Body blackish, pitchy, or dark testaceous; elytra pale and transparent in center and more or less infuscate at base and margins. Mandibles, maxillary palpi, first 4 antennomeres, and legs testaceous. Length [average] male, 4.9 mm; female, 4.6 mm.
Male. Head ( Figs. 1A, K; 9A) with widest at temples. Disc densely punctate, nearly glabrous. Clypeus broad and reversely subtrapezoidal, and protruding largely beyond anterior margin of supra-antennal ridges, longer than 1/3 head length, strongly depressed in basal part, surface glabrous and coriaceous in depressed region, with scattered large punctures (same as those in vertex) in anterior part; anterior margin emarginate and thickened. Epistomal suture with lateral portions broadly incurved and running backward and medially to level of anterior margin of eyes. Vertex densely punctate, slightly convex, and even somewhat depressed near clypeus (about same level with latter), posterior part poorly limited; mid-longitudinal suture fine and in some cases invisible, two punctate paralateral sutures running anteriorly to level of posterior margin of eyes. Eyes with fine facets, large but shorter than temples. Temples dilated and broadly rounded. Occipital suture with middle portion absent; nuchal ridge interrupted in middle, dorsal basal ridge present.
Mandible ( Fig. 9C) robust and strongly curved; two denticles on inner edge, one near middle and one at apical 1/4 and tiny. Antenna (type I) shorter than head and pronotum together, with apical antennomere shorter than two preceding together.
Pronotum transverse, broadest at about anterior 1/3, as broad as (but in some cases wider or narrower than) head. Disc 5-sulcate (as Fig. 1I), median sulcus and two paramedial sulci deep and punctate; two paralateral sulci deep, straight, and shorter, each with punctate depression on lateral side. Lateral margins crenulate from anterolateral to posterolateral angles. Elytra ( Fig. 1K) punctate but not rugose, without lateral longitudinal ridge.
Abdomen coriaceous and pubescent, broadest at segment V. Sternite VII ( Fig. 9E) with two obsolete denticles near middle of posterior margin, between which weakly emarginate. Sternite VIII ( Fig. 9F) with subbasal ridge continuous and straight in middle, with posterior margin protruding and gradually narrowed in middle, apex slightly emarginate and with short and fine transverse carina a little behind. Tergite X ( Fig. 9H) longer than wide, posterior margin truncate or evenly emarginate, with two lines of setae on haired posterior part.
Aedeagus ( Figs. 9K–N). Median lobe oblong-ovoid, with sclerite-like or membranous structures inside; apicomedial hook with apical part short, with transverse ridge (like process in lateral view) a little behind apex; dorsal membranous area covering most of dorsum of median lobe but not across whole length. Paramere simple, arm-like, with seta at near apex, with apex a little flattened.
Female. Head ( Fig. 9B) smaller than male, narrower than pronotum; clypeus flat and less protruding, with anterior margin truncate; temples shorter than eyes, not dilated, with mid-longitudinal suture feeble, with occipital suture present in middle. Mandible ( Fig. 9D) smaller.
Abdominal sternite VII without denticles on posterior margin. Sternite VIII ( Fig. 9G) with posterior margin broadly rounded and not protruding in middle.
Spermatheca ( Fig. 9J) ʋ- shaped, almost rightly angulate at middle, basal portion nearly not bulbous, apex rounded.
Distribution. China (Fujian, Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hubei, Taiwan, Yunnan); Philippines; India; Bangladesh; Malaysia; Indonesia.
