Material examined. Galápagos: Floreana : arid zone, 100 m, 24.iii.1989, sweeping, B.J. Sinclair (1 ♁, CNC) . Isabela: Pro. Villamil , 7.iii.1989, B.J. Sinclair (1 ♀, CNC) . Marchena : SW Playa, arid zone, beach forest, carrion trap, 12–23.iii.1992, S. Peck (2 ♁, 6 ♀, CNC) . Pinta : transition zone forest, 200 m, carrion trap, 14–19.iii.1992, S. Peck (1 ♀, CNC) . Santa Cruz: CDRS, arid zone, 19–31.i.1989, B.J. Sinclair (10 ♁, CNC) ; CDRS, 28.i.1989, swarming beside cactus, B.J. Sinclair (6 ♁, CNC) .

Remarks. Adults of this species were observed swarming beneath trees and Opuntia and collected from arid to humid zones. Adults of this species have been collected on goat, dairy cattle and pig dung, and on manure piles ( Brake 2009).
