Distribution. Native. Cosmopolitan; Galápagos: San Cristóbal.
Remarks. This species is thought to be naturally spread, being introduced to the Galápagos in part through wind dispersal ( Alexander 1962). Larvae were collected from the freshwater lake, El Junco ( Gerecke et al. 1995).
