Distribution. Introduced ( Wirth 1969b). Nearctic, Neotropical; Galápagos: Santa Cruz.
Remarks. Blood-sucking species, breeding in rotting cultivated plant materials and its presence in Galápagos is likely the result of human introduction ( Wirth 1969b; Causton et al. 2006).
