Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 10 View FIGURES 8 – 11 ). Wingspan 10.0−14.0 mm. In facies, this species is similar to G. datetis (Diakonoff, 1984) , but G. p i s t a can be distinguished by the socius with the distal half gradually narrowed and the cornutus about 3/5 the length of the phallus in the male genitalia ( Fig. 19 View FIGURES 16 – 20 ); and by the ductus bursae slightly longer than the corpus bursae and the ductus seminalis arising from anterior 1/3 of the ductus bursae in the female genitalia ( Fig. 27 View FIGURES 25 – 28 ). In G. datetis , the socius is abruptly narrowed at middle and is parallel-sided in the distal half, and the cornutus is about 1/2 the length of the phallus in the male genitalia; and the ductus bursae is slightly longer than the corpus bursae and the ductus seminalis arises from the anterior 2/5 of the ductus bursae in the female genitalia. Gynnidomorpha pista is also similar to G. permixtana ; the differences between them are noted under the latter species.

Distribution. China (Anhui, Beijing, Fujian, Guangxi, Guizhou, Hainan, Hongkong, Liaoning, Tianjin).

Gynnidomorpha rubricana (Peyerimhoff, 1877) Cochylis rubricana Peyerimhoff, 1877: 101 . Type locality: France. Phalonidia rubricana: Razowski, 1970: 221 .

Gynnidomorpha rubricana: Razowski, 2002: 49 .

Distribution. China (Jilin), Korea (Byun et al. 1998), Europe (Razowski 2002).

Biology. The adults were collected on Mt. Changbai, Jilin Province, China, July 20 (Liu 2002). Remarks. This species was recorded from China by Li (2002); we have not seen additional specimens.

Diagnosis. Adult ( Fig. 11 View FIGURES 8 – 11 ). Wingspan 8.0−15.0 mm. Gynnidomorpha vectisana is easily distinguished from its congeners by the bowl-shaped antrum, and the ductus bursae slightly dilated and folded at the posterior 1/ 4 in the female genitalia ( Fig. 28 View FIGURES 25 – 28 ). It is similar to G. luridana (Gregson, 1870) superficially, but G. vectisana can be distinguished by the socius with a pointed apex, and the cornutus about 1/3 the length of the phallus in the male genitalia ( Fig. 20 View FIGURES 16 – 20 ). In G. luridana , the socius is rounded at apex, and the cornutus is about 1/4 the length of the phallus.

Distribution. China (Henan, Jiangxi, Jilin, Xinjiang), Korea, Japan, Europe.

Hostplants. Glycyne max (L.) ( Fabaceae ), Prunus salicina Lindl. (Rosaceae) , Plantago sp. ( Plantaginaceae ), and Salicornia sp. ( Amaranthaceae ) (Kawabe 1982; Park 1983).
