Harpiliopsis spinigera Ortmann, 1890 View in CoL

Material examined. This species was common in most sites, in a way similar to its congener. We recorded one male from the Islas Marietas (ICMyL MAZ 9298A) and one ovigerous female (ICMyL MAZ 9298C), with two females (ICMyL MAZ 9303B) and two ovigerous females (ICMyL MAZ 9303C) from Estacahuite (15°39´N, 96°28´W).

Remarks. The presence of this species in Mexican waters was confirmed by Wicksten & Hernández (2000) in the southern Gulf of California. The northernmost sites were from the Loreto area by Hernández et al. (2009). Our study provides new sites along the Mexican coast as far south as Estacahuite, about 1,900 km from the previous records.
