Material examined. One female was collected in Morros del Potosí (17°31´N, 101°29´W) (ICMyL MAZ 9307A), three males (ICMyL MAZ 9308A) and one female (ICMyL MAZ 9308B) from Isla Roqueta. One ovigerous female from El Maguey (ICMyL MAZ 9309A).

Remarks. This species has a wide range in the Eastern tropical Pacific from the Gulf of California to Peru (Villalobos-Hiriart et al. 1989). Our data confirms the presence of M. garthi at several sites in the sampled area.
