N a m e d e r i v a t i o n: In honor of the outstanding specialist of Sphecidae Dr. Michael Ohl , Museum für Naturkunde Berlin, Germany.

R e c o g n i t i o n: Tarsi with plantulae; erect setae on head and mesothorax white. Supra-antennal plate ventrally not delimited by a transverse carina which runs along and between the antennal sockets. Tarsal claws without basal tooth. Eight sternum truncate ( Fig. 9 View Figs 4-11 ) and penis valve with teeth along ventral margin ( Fig. 7 View Figs 4-11 ). The male of Ch. ohli differs from Ch. madegassum in havingthe supra-antennal plate ventrally not delimited by a transverse carina and the eight sternum is truncate ( Fig. 9 View Figs 4-11 ) ( Ch. madecassum has the supra-antennal plate ventrally delimited by a transverse carina and the sternum VIII is slender with an apical process ( HENSEN 1988: 26, Fig. 37)). The male of Ch. ohli differs from Ch. bonneti in having the sternum VIII not so broadly truncate ( Fig. 9 View Figs 4-11 ) and the penis valve has teeth along ventral margin ( Fig. 7 View Figs 4-11 ) ( Ch. bonneti has the sternum VIII more broadly truncate ( HENSEN 1988: 26, Fig. 33) and the penis valve has no teeth along ventral margin).

D e s c r i p t i o n: Body length 16.5-17.5 mm, length of forewing 12-13 mm. Integument blue, mandible reddish-brown, antennae black, wings subhyaline. Occipital carina with complete circle, separated from hypostomal carina. Clypeus with three lobes ( Fig. 8 View Figs 4-11 ), medial lobe distinctly broader than lateral ones. Antennae with tyloidea on flagellomere VII – IX. Frons densely coarsely punctate, supra-antennal plate ventrally not delimited by transverse carina. Pronotal collar coarsely punctate, medially impressed, short ( Figs 4, 5 View Figs 4-11 ). Scutum, scutellum, metanotum, mesopleuron and metapleuron coarsely densely punctate. Metapleuron sunken below level of mesopleuron and side of propodeum. Propodeal dorsum coarsely punctate to reticulate. Tarsal claws without basal tooth, tarsi with plantulae. Petiole as long as hindbasitarsus, slightly curved. Sternum VIII truncate ( Fig. 9 View Figs 4-11 ), penis valve with teeth along ventral margin ( Fig. 7 View Figs 4-11 ).
