Type host: Theristicus caudatus (Boddaert, 1783) .
Chilean host: Theristicus melanopis (Gmelin, 1789) .

Chilean locality: Valdivia: Region XIV.
Geographic distribution: South America.

Remarks: Salazar-Silva (2021: 13) provided ecological data on 17 specimens of Plegadiphilus mamillatus collected from seven birds in Valdivia, Chile.
