Identification. Fomitiporia murrillii was identified by the following characters: basidiome perennial, ungulate ( Fig. 3C); hymenophoral surface with circular to angular pores, 4–6 per mm ( Fig. 3C); context homogeneous, woody, cinnamon-brown ( Fig. 3C); hyphal system dimitic, with generative hyphae hyaline, yellowish, thin-walled, septate ( Fig. 4G); skeletal hyphae yellowish, thick-walled, nonseptate ( Fig. 4G); basidiospores dextrinoid, subglobose to globose, hyaline, thick-walled, 5.5–7 × 4.5–6 μm ( Fig. 4G) ( Dai et al. 2008).

Distribution. Fomitiporia murrillii is reported in Brazil only from the states of Paraná and Rio Grande do Sul. There are no records from the Amazon region, and our record is the first from this region.
