Range:— Florida; Antilles; Mexico to Brazil and Argentina; Africa; Madagascar; northwestern India. In Bolivia, in CH, CO, and SC.

Ecology:— Uncommon; terrestrial, rarely on rocks, often on humid slopes and in disturbed habitats, in semihumid forests; small, inconspicuous, and probably overlooked; 400–2100 m.
