Range:— Antilles; southern Mexico to Bolivia (BE, CO, LP, SC) and Brazil.

Ecology:— Fairly common; epiphytic, rarely terrestrial or saxicolous, in humid to semideciduous forests; 350– 2450 m. In Costa Rica, this species prefers to grow on tree ferns ( Bittner & Zelaya 1997).
