Range:— Uncertain due to taxonomic problems; probably Venezuela to Bolivia ( CH, CO, LP, SC); Brazil.

Ecology:— Fairly common; terrestrial, occasionally saxicolous, in humid forests; 1450–3050 m, down to 1000 m elsewhere.
